Is This a Real Envelope?
No — and that is the point. Nothing is printed, stuffed, stamped by a post office or delivered. The envelope is part of the card itself: it opens on their screen, wherever they are, seconds after you send it. There is no address to type and no postage to buy.
What it borrows from a paper envelope is the moment — the small wait before you find out what's inside. That beat is the whole reason it exists.

Address ink
Filtered to your paper's lightness, so the writing never disappears into a dark stock.
Postmark
Five inks, or matched to your wax — carrying the date the card is sent.
Or write the name yourself.
To and From can be typed, or drawn with a finger or stylus. A drawn name is stored as ink rather than as a picture, so it re-tints itself if you change the paper underneath it.

Digital Envelope FAQ
Is this mailed to them?
No. The digital envelope is part of the card and opens on their screen — nothing is printed or posted. If you want a real card in their mailbox, that is our printed cards product: a folded 5×7 card on thick stock, sent with a mailing envelope.
Do free cards get an envelope?
No. Cards made with a Card Pack credit and Business cards arrive in an envelope. Free cards open straight into the photo drop, where the photos tumble out of the card.
Can I change the envelope after sending?
You can change it freely while you are building the card, and you can still edit it after sending — right up until the card is opened. Once your card has been opened, its envelope is set for good, so the first thing they saw stays the thing they saw.
Does the envelope still work in the downloaded card?
Yes. A downloaded card is a single self-contained file with everything inside it, envelope included. It opens the same way offline, on any device, with no account and no connection.
What if the recipient has reduced motion turned on?
If their device asks for reduced motion, we skip the envelope entirely and fade the card in instead. Nobody gets a spinning envelope they did not ask for, and nothing is lost — the card itself is unchanged.
Can I write the name by hand?
Yes. Draw To and From with a finger or a stylus and your own handwriting goes on the envelope. It is stored as ink, not as a picture, so it re-tints itself if you swap the paper for a darker one.
What is the postmark date?
The day the card is sent. If you schedule a card for a future date, the postmark carries that scheduled date instead — so it is right when they open it, not when you built it.
How much does it cost?
It is included with every Card Pack card — one-time, from $1.99, with no subscription. Business cards include it too.
