eCards Photos is not a startup. It is a small business in Ontario, run by the person who answers your email.
The story
Our family is spread across the country. Some are military, some are in other countries entirely. When my son’s school pictures came back digitally that year, we wanted to do what we had always done — send them to everyone who matters.
Every card service I tried let me down. They compressed the photos until they printed like a photocopy, or they buried the download behind so many steps that half my family gave up. All I wanted was to send one real, full-quality photo inside a card — the way we used to, with printed pictures tucked into a paper envelope.
So I built it. A digital card that behaves like a real one: when my family opens it, the photos fall out, the way they do when you pull prints from a paper envelope. No compression. No hoops. My mom sends them straight to her home printer from inside the card, and they are on the fridge five minutes later.
That is the whole idea: the simplest way to send real photos to the people you love, however far apart you are.

The photos have to survive the trip
Full resolution, downloadable, good enough to print and frame. A photo that only looks right on a screen is a photo you have already lost.
The card has to keep working
A card can be downloaded as a file you own and opened years later with no internet and no account. Nothing here depends on us still being around. What keeping a card means
It has to work for the least technical person you know
No app, no account for the person receiving it — one link and one button. We test with our own parents and grandparents, and if it is too complicated for them we simplify it rather than explain it.
How the business works
Worth saying plainly, because plenty of photo services make their money in ways you would not choose.
Your photos are not the product
We do not sell data, and we do not train anything on your pictures. Content is encrypted in transit and at rest, and we only touch it to deliver your card. The privacy policy says it in the longer form.
No investors to answer to
No venture capital, no growth targets set by someone else. Card Packs and printing pay the bills, which is the whole business model. Nothing here is a subscription unless you ask for one — a Card Pack is bought once, and there is nothing to cancel.
Small enough to answer the phone
Made in Ontario. Every support email is read by the person who built the thing, which is either reassuring or alarming depending on your day.
